"Featuring no lead vocalist (all four members sing), YBF embrace all things experimental and complex within the parameters of their piano-tinged, time signature-obliterating rock." - Alternative Press Magazine "The Saginaw, MI quartet’s self-titled debut is a surprisingly unique and creative effort that boasts boatloads of potential." - PunkNews.org |
Hey friends, It saddens us to have to say that Your Best Friend will be calling it a day. Our final shows are July 15th and 16th at Fischer Hall in Frankenmuth, MI. None of us are too happy about it. To be honest, we never thought we would even have to write this kind of message. It has been weighing us on us for awhile and we’ve all been avoiding it. We started this band when we were 17 and 18 and we were ready to grow fat and old together. There are several contributing factors as to why this is happening. Some of us want to tour full time, some of us don’t want to tour anymore. Some of us get along, some of us don’t. But please make no mistake about it, we all love each other to death. We’re just at different places in our lives. We’ve had the the best times of our lives together. We were always worried that we wouldn’t have anything cool to tell our grandkids, but thanks to high-speed chase food fights, obscene amounts of goose feces on a water slide, speedos, applesauce, cats who can Google the number 7, bag hands, hybrid plungers, R Truth, an old bum trying to fight John for $3 that he already owned, model airplanes being hurled at ceiling fans, Ric Flair chops, Mexican border patrol, sleeper holds, shooting World War II weaponry at bass guitars, potato gun launchers, double-sided peanut butter sandwiches, swords, chokeslamming each other off of four foot stages, inadvertently showing our wieners to law enforcement, alligator death march, scratchy-eye-Folgers-eating cats, getting peed on by dogs while we sleep, 50-year-old hillbilly rappers named Toxic, illegal rollerskating, 540s on the highway, van skateboarding, fist pumping the entire state of Alabama, and crotch-sniffing penguins, we should have plenty to talk about. So instead of moping, we should celebrate! On July 15th and 16th we are going to be playing at Fischer Hall in Frankenmuth, MI. These are our last two shows and we’re going to be spending them with the people that mean the most to us: YOU. On Friday, July 15th we will be playing with Wolves and Machines, Mike Mains & The Branches, and Jacob’s Ladder. July 16th we are kicking it old school and playing with Take The City, Vince Dynamic, and 88 Miles Per Hour. GET TICKETS ATwww.FUSIONSHOWS.com We have too many people to thank. Our dear friends in the bands that we’ve played or toured with, anyone who gave us a show, food, or a floor to sleep on, our families and friends, the big man upstairs, all of the wrestlers we met on the road (that means you, R Truth), all of the people who weirded us out, all of the people we weirded out, the people across the world who bailed us out when we had the tour(s) from hell, and YOU. You made the last 8 years something we’ll never forget. If we forgot to thank you, put your name here _______. We thank you and love you. You mean the world to us. Special thanks to Matt Tunney, Sean Murphy, Mark Michalik, Steve Sochanek, Chyi Wang, Jay Bolt, Adam Bridgewater, and Adam White for being apart of this band. John and Nick have started working on a couple of new projects. Check out American Opera at www.AmericanOpera.net and www.Facebook.com/AmericanOpera.
